Laurent-Perrier Chatsworth Garden | Chelsea Flower Show 2015 | Sketch by Dan Pearson Studio
This week we are celebrating the beauty that is Chelsea Flower Show. Organised by The Royal Horticultural Society, Chelsea is a landmark event for any garden enthusiast. Having taken part in the creation of a few Chelsea show gardens I can tell you it is no small feat to produce one of these gardens. They are a year in the making and rely on a great deal of sponsorship to turn a flat parkland into an established garden. Specimens are selected and shipped in from nurseries all around Europe, plants are grown specifically for the gardens and are often held back or forced so that they show at their best of the day of judging, with all gardens hoping for a gold medal or the coveted 'Best In Show'.
This years best in show goes to the magnificent garden designed by English landscape designer Dan Pearson. His Chatsworth House garden is a worthy winner displaying a naturalist array of planting which includes: euphorbia, azaleas, candelabra primulas, honeysuckle and a 60 year old willow tree.
