mizuyo yamashita | mentori vase
Each bulbous vase in this series has been hand thrown by ceramicist Mizuyo Yamashita. 'Mentori' meaning faceted in Japanese describes the curved surface of the pieces. Thrown on the wheel in a mix of white stoneware and terracotta, faceted with carving tools and finally finished with a matt glaze.
Mizuyo Yamashita is a Japanese ceramicist living and working in East London. Her coveted work focuses on objects for the home.
Due to the handmade nature of this product there are variances to the glaze and finish, this, we think, is what makes it special.
